Shipping Information

Shipping Schedule

We ship orders on Mondays and Tuesdays to minimize the risk of delays and ensure your cherry shrimp arrive safely and healthy. Shipping later in the week may lead to extended transit times, which can cause stress for live animals.

Handling Time

Orders placed after Tuesday at 6:00 AM CST will be scheduled for shipping the following Monday or Tuesday. However, in certain situations, we may need to hold your order for longer periods to ensure the safety of your shrimp:

  1. Temperature Considerations:
    • If temperatures at your location or ours fall outside the acceptable range for safe shipping (see Temperature Cutoff section below).
  2. Public Holidays:
    • If USPS does not pick up or deliver due to a holiday.
    • To avoid potential delays associated with increased holiday shipping volumes.

You will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number once your order has shipped. Please note:

  • Priority Mail (2-3 Day Shipping): The stated transit time is the estimated delivery time after the package has been shipped and does not include packing and handling time.
  • Packing and Handling Time: Allow 1-9 days for packing and handling before your order is shipped.

If temperatures are outside the safe shipping range, we will hold your order until we identify a suitable shipping window.

Important Notes:

  • Orders may also be held during extreme weather conditions in Illinois to protect the shrimp.
  • Shipping during public holidays may be delayed to avoid transit interruptions.

Shipping Cost and Services

  • All live animal orders ship at a flat rate of $17.51 via USPS Priority Mail (2-3 Days Transit).
  • Heat packs or cold packs are included at no additional cost, as needed.

Carrier Service Guarantees

USPS provides estimated transit times, but these are not guaranteed. While USPS has a strong track record of timely deliveries, delays may occasionally occur due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control.

We stand by our Live Arrival Guarantee even in the event of carrier delays.

How Are Our Animals Packed?

We take great care to ensure your shrimp are packed securely and arrive in excellent condition:

  • Shrimp are packed in standard aquarium fish bags to keep them safe and stress-free during transit.
  • Bags are placed in an insulated box with additional protective materials for added security.
  • Heat or cold packs are included when necessary to maintain the appropriate temperature, at no extra cost.

Where Do We ship?

We ship live shrimp to 48 contiguous states in the United States. Due to customs restrictions, we cannot ship to:

  • Hawaii
  • Puerto Rico
  • Alaska (for live animals only)

Do You Accept Returns?

To protect the health and safety of our animals, all sales are final, and we do not accept returns for any items in our store. For concerns about your shipment, refer to our Live Arrival Guarantee.
